On Monday, March 31st, 2014 the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi volunteered at the CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) Food Pantry and sorted cans for their annual Canstruction event. At this event, there were teams of people that made structures out of canned food which would be left in the Oakdale mall for a week; this raised awareness about the current hunger issue in Broome County. After a week, the food was then donated to the food pantry to be delivered within the local community. Contributing to this organization that delivers about two million pounds of food …

On Tuesday, March 25th, Alpha Kappa Psi and Enactus co-hosted KPMG’s recruiter Alicia Mucci who presented on the fundamentals of a case competition and tips to succeed in them.  Mucci discussed important strategies to use, like how to work on a team in and how to give a professional PowerPoint presentation . Students that attended this information session were shown exactly what KPMG judges look for in the presentation and the scale they are judged on. The brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi were proud to host the Zula App Launch on Thursday, March 20th in the Mandela Room.  Jeff Pulver, the Chairman of Zula as well as the co-founder of Vonage came up to Binghamton to speak about his new and exciting app called Zula.  Students learned about the benefits of the Zula App and participants had the opportunity to earn cash prizes just by participating.  Ever attendee received a Zula t-shirt, water bottle, and bag of M & M’s as a thank you.  Five groups …

Meet the New KPMG Recruiter

On Tuesday, September 24, Alpha Kappa Psi hosted Binghamton University’s new KPMG recruiter, Alicia Mucci, in the university’s union. Mucci presented on the operations, and culture of KPMG. Students learned that KPMG can give assistance to those who would like to travel around the world or those who want to settle and start a family.  Furthermore, she presented on the job opportunities available for students coming out of college. On Monday, September 23, Alpha Kappa Psi gave Binghamton University the opportunity to meet Maureen Sawyer, a PwC partner with 18 years of experience with the firm and 8 years of experience as a partner.
