Morgan Stanley

A firm with great recognition in the business world, Morgan Stanley decided to open its doors for opportunities on Binghamton University’s campus with a fun game of Jeopardy on Wednesday, October 14th. The presentation was coordinated by members of Alpha Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi, and was open to all Binghamton students who were interested in the firm. Members of the ISG Operations and Financial Control Group divisions came to the session and sat amongst the tables of students who were participating in the game. Both students and firm partners and associates actively engaged in the game, answering questions about the firm and Binghamton trivia alike. After the game, students had the opportunity to network with the firm and learn more about the potential careers available within the two divisions of Morgan Stanley. It was a valuable experience for the students at Binghamton University, as it was for the folks at Morgan Stanley, as a new relationship between the school and the firm was firmly established.
Since its founding in 1935, Morgan Stanley and its people have helped redefine the meaning of financial services. The firm has continually broken new ground in advising our clients on strategic transactions, in pioneering the global expansion of finance and capital markets, and in providing new opportunities for individual and institutional investors.

ISG Operations’ primary mission is to provide control and oversight for post-execution trade processing from trade entry through settlements and custody in a commercial, sustainable manner.  Operations is also responsible for proprietary and customer transactions of both primary and secondary trading in listed and over-the-counter transactions in commodities, equity and fixed income securities, and structured derivatives.

Financial Control Group (FCG) is one of the core areas in the Finance Division and manages the firm’s risk by implementing financial controls over its business activities.  FCG is responsible for Morgan Stanley’s financial records, ensuring that the assets and liabilities of the firm are properly controlled, and providing accurate and timely financial information to senior management as well as to statutory and regulatory bodies.
